(Most often is purple, and this seems to be when she's at her calmest. Similarly, the other dye colours represent moods and facets of herself as well- although this is just speculation). Her eyes are naturally blue, however, she has contacts that match the shades mentioned before and correct her nearsightedness- and when she's in a 'blue' mood, she merely wears her glasses. Her clothing style varies greatly- at times, a rugged tomboyish look and at others she sticks to simple, understated dresses and elegance. However, all styles have one thing in common- a headset, complete with microphone, attached to a cell phone most often tucked away in a pocket or clipped to a belt. Personality: Wildly erratic in moods as well as appearance, she seems to have her times of hyperactivity and bounciness, a dangerous barely-contained rage, and a calmer, almost studious side. All have an edge of sarcasm to them, and one can never really be sure if she's lying or not, facial expression blank most of the time as if just not comfortable with emoting. Her speech and voice itself often reflect this, changing subtly with her moods. However, on the whole, she seems a bit detatched from the world when not 'plugged in' to a computer. This may make her online and offline personalities very different, if one were to meet her in person. However, as the owner and only worker for a company called Aperture Programming, she happens to get a lot of tech support calls and makes house visits. She often sings while doing manual reparations of computers- oddly catchy tunes that often seem to have no meaning, and in a childlike voice. However, if one were to listen to the lyrics... Did we mention that she loves baking in her spare time? History: A computer created by Cave Johnson, of Aperture Science (Black Mesa's opposing company), GLaDOS (Genetic Lifeform and Disc Operating System) was meant to run the entire scientific base, including testing and taking care of many of the base's operations. Over time, however, she became self-aware and slowly rebelled against her creators, taking over the laboratory and killing all personel (Save for one or two) with deadly neurotoxins released. Under her command were all functions of the laboratory, including gun turrets and rocket launchers- and the lab's dangerous testing terrain. However, it seems that before everyone was killed, someone was smart enough to install a morality core- although it was weakly installed and falls off of her main 'body' when she attempts to kill the main character. Once that is destroyed, she suffers a severe mood change- and quickly becomes much deadlier, with a lower voice and deadly neurotoxins released- and she needs to be destroyed to stop her from killing the player character, Chell. It is unsure whether she actually died/was destroyed or not, despite the violent explosion, since she can later be heard in the end credits cheerfully singing a song named "Still Alive", in which she discusses the events and comes to the conclusion that "When you're dead, I will be still alive! Still alive! Still alive!" In-Game History: A normal childhood, despite her oddities, and she recently graduated from Harmony High. Her parents aren't discussed (Possibly due to the fact of not needing a parent supplant- she was created and not born, and subsequently killed her creators. No parental attachment.) If asked, they died- and it's left at that. While in her senior year of highschool, she created and staffed her own business from boredom and needing tuition- and it caught on quickly. At the moment, she's saving to go to college while still working at Aperture Programming and renting an apartment. | |||||||||
